Forward Looking Consumer Survey with 1,500 Respondents

Index at an All-Time High

  • RR’s Intent to Eat Out Index (our survey of 1,500 consumers’ plans to eat-out over the next month) increased +6.4% y/y to its highest level since we created the index in September 2018.
  • Results reflect pent-up demand to eat out created by sheltering & cooking fatigue. A decline in negativity is evident by a sharp decrease in plans to eat out “a lot less” across all age groups.
  • QSR family bundle deals seem to be the way to go & we see an all-time high for QSR promotional price (up 16%+ y/y). FSR has dialed back its family bundle deals which were replaced with free delivery & gift card discounts.
